Rumors suggest Apple may find a way to integrate a virtual fingerprint sensor into a future phone design. Just head into your Settings, open up the Touch ID & Passcode settings, enter your passcode, and choose “Add a fingerprint” to see if this helps improve the accuracy of the reader.Īpple’s flagship iPhone X doesn’t have Touch ID, opting to use Face ID technology instead, but that doesn’t mean fingerprint readers are going out of fashion. It only takes a few moments to go through the Touch ID registration process and the reward is easier and faster access to your iPhone. This step can do wonders for improving the accuracy of Touch ID and go a long way toward solving your fingerprint-reader woes. So go ahead and register your favorite finger two or three times. While you’re probably already aware that you can enroll more than one finger for Touch ID, you might not be aware that you can also enroll the same fingerprint more than once. Here’s one big tip that’s surprisingly under the radar. Related: Check out these 3 iPhone life hacks every user will love. You can also try enrolling multiple fingers, which Apple suggests you do if you continue to have problems. Wet fingers can really mess with the sensor, so be sure your hand is clean and dry. What now? For starters, check your finger. ![]() It’s you: You’ve got a clean home button, you’re good at aiming your finger, and you don’t have a case or screen protector in the way. Some people may experience issues with screen protectors, too, especially if the Touch ID cutout isn’t positioned properly. If they cover up part of the home button, then it’s probably time to replace your case. A case gets in the way: Aftermarket cases can be a fun way to express your personal style with your phone, but be wary about ones that interfere with the fingerprint reader.Take care of your aim when you apply your finger to the button. Apple warns against tapping too quickly or moving your finger around. Not covering the home button completely with your finger: Triggering the home button properly requires good positioning of your fingertip so that you cover the sensor. Also, take care that your finger is clean when you lay it on the sensor. Apple recommends using a clean, lint-free cloth to wipe away dirt and debris. Your first step should be to clean any mess off the fingerprint reader. We may handle them with dirty fingers, drop food or beverages on them, or shove them into pockets full of lint. ![]() Often, Christian schools will have their students say both pledges each morning before the school day starts. Both pledges are regularly recited one after the other. Some Christians, churches, and schools recite a pledge of allegiance to the Christian flag, corresponding to the pledge of allegiance to the American flag. What Do We State When We Pledge Allegiance to a Flag?Īllegiance, maintaining one’s loyalty and fidelity to the Christian flag, is often displayed by flying it alongside the American flag-especially in evangelical Christian schools. These three aspects represent the basic tenets of the faith: a holy God, who died on a cross, to give His people new life on earth and in heaven.Įven amid its depth of meaning, the simple design of the Christian flag has made it easy to reproduce, and it has remained unchanged for over a hundred years. After people commit their lives to God, He calls them to surrender to His will. The Bible tells of God’s surrender to death (and then resurrection) to show the magnitude of his love and people’s rebellion against Him. ![]() A white flag represents surrender in traditional vexillology (the study of flags and their history). The white stands for the purity of Christ and His holiness. The blue represents the water of baptism followed by one’s new life devoted to following Christ. On the Christian flag, the red symbolizes the blood of Christ during his crucifixion. It can be seen flying inside or outside many Christian churches in Latin America and Africa as an emblem of their allegiance to Christ. Throughout the last century, the Christian Flag has become a universal symbol for Christianity, spreading worldwide largely through Christian missionaries. Some denominations have maintained their own flags, such as the Vatican flag flown by the Roman Catholic church. The Federal Council of Churches accepted the Christian flag in 1942, and various Christian denominations have used it, from Mennonites to Baptists to Lutherans. As a result, anyone can use or manufacture it without seeking permission. He deliberately did not file a copyright or trademark for it, so all of Christendom could use the flag freely. He was a Sunday School teacher in Brooklyn, New York. The flag was designed in the late 1800s by Charles C. Ditch the hard drive, go with a 512GB or larger SSD configuration, and use increase battery capacity by at least 50% then add in some BIOS/firmware tuning to improve battery life and we'd be golden. For gaming, I'd certainly say the MSI GS60 is the better notebook, but I really wish they could come a bit closer to the feel of the XPS 15. In contrast, MSI will sell you a system with a faster graphics solution but lower overall build quality, with less than half the battery life. And that's really a good comparison point.ĭell is willing to offer you a higher build quality and what I would consider a better display, but you'll pay more for the privilege and you also get a substantially slower GT 750M graphics solution. I really prefer upwards of seven hours, which is something I've seen from other Haswell laptops like the Dell XPS 15 (over 9 hours, though granted that's with a much larger 91Wh battery). The GE60 didn't do very well, managing about 4.5 hours in our Light battery test the GS60 (probably thanks to the 3K display) does even worse, mustering just 3.5 hours of useful battery life (and dropping down 2.5 hours in heavier workloads). Unfortunately, there's still one other area to discuss, and once more MSI falls short, this time with the GS60: battery life. gaming), but if you're gaming you're probably using a mouse with the laptop on a hard surface, so it's less of a concern. The system can still get pretty warm under a heavy load (e.g. Cooling vents this time consist of left and right exhaust ports with two fans handling the CPU and GPU. It's a solid design overall, with perhaps the MSI Dragon Army logo on the LCD cover being a bit too "in-your-face" for some users. Compared to the GT and GE lines, however, the overall aesthetic is much improved, with a thinner chassis and more premium materials. I suppose some people might be able to use a 15.6" 3K display at native resolution with no scaling, but I'm not one of them! I'm still more inclined to go with a good 1080p display over 3K for a laptop, though the 3K displays definitely look nice in the Windows Modern UI, and as a whole the 3K (and 4K) panels at least mean you won't get saddled with a low-end TN panel.īuild quality is definitely better than on the GE60, which is great to see, but the LCD cover is still a bit less rigid than I would like and the hinges could be stiffer as well. Humorously, when I first booted up the GS60 a notification from MSI popped up recommending I use 100% scaling. We could also get into the usual tangent about HiDPI and the various applications that don't work properly when you use Windows' scaling options. It may be that our calibration software doesn't quite play right with RGBW, but the net result is that I almost prefer the out-of-box colors to the calibrated colors – and neither result is going to be acceptable for image professionals. The problem seems to stem from the use of an RGBW grid for the colors, which we've seen on some other HiDPI displays. The out-of-box colors actually look pretty good, but oddly after calibration things seemed to get better in some ways and worse in others. The display is where things get interesting, as MSI joins the HiDPI crowd with a 3K display (2880x1620). Speaker quality is okay as well – lacking in bass response, and not enough to fill a large room, but in normal use the speakers are sufficient. Some will also dislike the placement, with the touchpad centered on the spacebar, but if you're going to have a 10-key I think this is the best way to do it. Again, it works well enough that I can adapt to using it, but I won't say it's the best touchpad I've ever used. The touchpad is the same as in the GE60, using Elan Smart Pad hardware. I still miss having dedicated document navigation keys (Home and End in particular), but you can remap some of the keys using the keyboard software if needed. There are some minor personal niggles (like having the Windows key on the right), but it's not a major concern. Starting with the good, the keyboard is the same as what you'll find on the GT70 and GE60 that we reviewed recently. But what's it like using the device on a daily basis? ![]() You also get plenty of storage from the 1TB HDD with a 240GB SSD RAID set for faster OS and general application performance. On paper, the GS60 Ghost Pro gets just about everything right: it has a good CPU and GPU for performance, plenty of RAM, a cutting-edge 3K display, and multi-colored zoned backlighting for the keyboard.
